Rich the kid 'Plug' music video.

Is hip op influencing young people into committing crime like murder and drug use.

Rich the Kid is an American hip pop artist who produced a song called 'Plug' featuring Kodak Black and Play Boi Carti. The song fits the trap music category which reinforces drugs, sex and violence through the mise en scene and lyrics in music videos. I have chosen this because many youngsters are listening to songs similar to this and it associates drug dealing and murder with business which is having a negative impact on youth. Perhaps there should be a restriction on the amount of guns and drugs these artists show. However, rapping can keep youngsters off the streets which can reduce crime as it is a hobby and can also be a job. For example the artists onto this track are teenagers which is concerning because of their emphasis on drugs but they seem to be enjoying their music. In addition, 'Plug' is a drug dealer and the rappers are explaining that they wanted to become a plug and now they achieved their goal (hence all the jewellery and fancy cars).
